OBP Plastic Producers and Users STD

ETKO China has been approved by Zero Plastic Oceans (ZPO) to offer certification services of OBP Certification Program.

The Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP) Certification Program was developed by Zero Plastic Oceans, a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to addressing plastic pollution issues. The aim of Zero Plastic Oceans is to protect oceans from the continuous leakage of Plastic waste from land-based activity by developing incentives and models that promote the collection of Ocean Bound Plastic (OBP). The OBP Certification Program was designed to encourage the removal of OBP from the environment by adding value in effectively collecting and treating it before it reaches oceans. The scheme is composed of two subprograms: the OBP Recycling Subprogram and the OBP Neutrality Subprogram. When OBP is not commercially recyclable, its collection and final treatment can be encouraged by certifying this process through the Ocean Bound Plastic Neutrality model and the OBP Neutrality Subprogram is applied. In this model, Plastic producers or users can offset their Plastic consumption or production, by removing a determined volume from the environment through the acquisition of OBP Credits.

The OBP Plastic Producers & Users Standard, under OBP Neutrality Subprogram, is applicable to any Organization (for profit, not for profit, governmental or non-governmental) involved, or who wants to be involved in contributing to a better environment by removing a determined volume of plastic waste from nature for a determined scope of its Plastic production or activities and claiming to be certified as Ocean Bound Plastic Neutral or Positive. This Standard can also be used to certify events, fairs and other temporary activities that wish to claim being OBP Neutral/Positive.

FIRST CONTACT AND OFFER

1. Applicant obtains the Regulation documents and ETKO documents from ETKO 2. website or request these documents from ETKO at first contact;

3. Applicant submits the filled Application Form to ETKO;

4. ETKO evaluates the application form and clarify questions with applicants;

5. ETKO prepares and submit the price offer;

6. Applicant approves the offer and pay the fee;

Certification contract is signed between ETKO and applicant.

APPLICATION

1. Applicant should submit the document requested by ETKO as soon as possible;

2. Applicant transmits Production Information;

3. Applicant transmits Business Information (Operating lines, Layout Plan etc. other documents);

4. Complete the Application File.

CONTROL

1. Check date and inspector determining;

2. Control of sites (Warehouses, Documentation, Stock Status etc.);

3. Control of Entry and Exit and Sales;

4. Preparation of the report of the control.

CERTIFICATION

The Personnel Involved in the Approval of Control and Control Reports cannot take place in Certification. Certification Committee is Completely Independent.

1. Departing the Control Report;

2. Certification Committee Approval;

3. Submission of the Report and Certificate;

4. Beginning of Sales Transactions.
